Days 50 – 51 – 52, Naxos (ENG – ITA)
Three introspection days, in Naxos.
Bad stuff.
Maybe for the weird climate of these days.
Maybe for casual meetings that affected me deeply.
Maybe for I’m feeling that the adventure is coming to an end soon.
Maybe just cause I forced myself to talk to me again.
But well, I was feeling some kind of melancholic lately.
I should have saved one introspective day, but today I did it: I missed the ferry.

The boat Express Skopelitis links almost everyday Naxos to Amorgos, touching on the way all the “small Cyclades”: Iraklia, Schinoussa, Kufounissi and Dhonoussa.
I was supposed to leave at 14 to Dhonoussa.
I get to the harbour in perfect timing, glad to see how skilled I became in managing minutes.
13.30: I’m sitting in a bar, sipping a frappè in a plastic glass – still a little bit stuck in my thoughts – looking from time to time at the sea awaiting the boat.
13.55: nothing.
Still no boat approaching.
It’s strange, they are quite always on time.
“It should be cause of the big waves“, I think within myself.
Bring the glass to my lips, enjoying the wind, breathing salt.
13.58: zero.
14.00: I’m still looking at the sea, calm like an angel. I don’t mind if the boat is late, there is no big deal waiting for me in the new island.
I get drowsy, slowly drinking my frappè.
A look at the harbour, at the people passing by, at the small fishermen boats.
One of them captures my attention, 100 meters away from me. It’s the only one that is moving. Its engine just started to eat the water.
I stare at it while it goes, a stupid smile under my nose.
On the side: Express Skopelitis.
As I discover that it was there since two hours my frappè is already a spot on the ground.
At least I’m lucky cause Maragas camping is still there, cause the wind cleared again the sky and a blue sunset on Paros, cause wine exists and I have a great book with me:
” The first thing is to be in front of a beautiful landscape; then everything can be solved, life can start. “
Or re-start.
Tomorrow I’ll see where to go.
Introspection is over.
Tre giorni di introspezione, fermo a Naxos.
Brutta roba.
13.55: nulla.
Non si avvista alcuna imbarcazione. Nessuna sirena in lontananza.
Strano.
È l’unica in movimento.
O ri-cominciare.
Domani vedrò dove andare.
L‘introspezione è finita.
