VIDEO RELEASE !

Ottobre 27, 2015 3320 Views

I’m not a writer, not a photographer nor a video-maker.

But I had fun mixing this little thing up.
If you look at this “video”, just one suggestion I would like to give: PUT THE VOLUME OUT LOUD!
🙂

🙂

Day 62, Santorini (ENG)

“We move in circles

Balanced all the while
On a gleaming razor’s edge

A perfect sphere
Colliding with our fate
This story ends where it began.”

Day 61, Santorini (ITA – ENG)

E soprattutto … torni?!”

Certo che torno!
Aspettavo soltanto che qualcuno venisse a prendermi!

“Vieri but what the hell are you still doing there?

When are you coming back?
And … are you coming back?!”

Of course I am!
I was just waiting for someone to rescue me!

10 NAZIONALITÀ. 10 NATIONALITIES. (ITA – ENG)

Agosto 4, 2015 2942 Views

Mediamente belli e in sovrappeso, sembra sappiano dire solo “Fuck” e “… and I was just like WOW!“.

Vivono in tenda, mangiando zuppe e Toblerone.

4. Le Russe.
Girano a gruppi di tre o quattro. In abiti coloratissimi e cappelli appariscenti.

E allora vai a dormire.

Avrà sì e no 14 anni, circondato dai suoi fratelli.

9. Il Greco.
Che sia in crisi o meno, non lo dà a vedere. Lavora in silenzio, umile e gentile.

10 nationalities (or kind of persons) you can meet when you are in Santorini, in August, wandering with a Brompton:

1. The Americans.
They travel in groups, keep coming and going like waves in the Camping.
Goodlooking and some kind of fat, it seems all they can say is “Fuck” and ” … so I was just like WOW!”.
For sure you meet them at 1 o’clock at the pool, drunk and loud.
Surprisingly they wake up early in the morning, Oakley on, ready to start again the Wow series.

2. The Chinese.
Alone and tanned, he spends his day at the pool. Reading or watching movies on the tablet.
He doesn’t smile, and talks even less.
When you aporoach him to ask where is he from and what is he doing, you understand why he’s silent.

3. The German (or Danish) family.
Mom and dad on their thirties, a little baby girl and two blond-like-ghosts twins.
Naked all the time, they never leave their little world, spending all the day in the tent, eating soups and Toblerone.

4. The Russian Girls.
Three or four of them, they look like gooses when they pose for pictures in colourful dresses and wannabe hats, with horrible men on their 50s.
You like thinking they are just all sisters travelling with their dad.

5. The sweet couples.
From all the nationalities, for a moment you look at them like envious as you are here as a sort of pilgrim, but hopefully that feeling doesn’t last.
If they are English, their skin is burned and they look shy and happy as someone being caught while stealing the jam
cause at the end they survived to the Luftwaffe and still they don’t care about anything.
If they are Spanish, they are tanned, smoke weed and shout “Hombre!” every now and then.
If they are Italian (and you can see it immediately, without looking how tanned they are), you find yourself whispering ” … oh shit …”
when they come to the parapet where you are standing and she tells him
“Carmine, Vita Mia, come here so we can take another panoramic selfie!“.
You don’t know if you want to push them off the parapet, or throw yourself.

6. The Princess.
She might be Australian, or South-African, or from New Zealand. You don’t care.
Gourgeous in her flower nightdress, she doesn’t walk.
She dances, like the wind in her blond hair, hand in hand with an average Bobby.
You fall in love with her at a glance, and she gives you the most beautiful image and picture here in Santorini.
You forget about her after 5 minutes, until you meet her again in some books or in some dreams.

7. The Canadian girl.
23, born in Chile, wild curly hair all over her head. She is the one who starts talking to you.
She is a solo traveller who is going to reach some friends in Israel where she is staying for a month, going with the flow.
Free spirit, she doesn’t know where she will be tomorrow but doesn’t even think about it.
She likes scuba diving and jumping from the cliffs. You spend a night with her in Oia, laughing like old friends.
Sometimes you feel exactly like her, and desire to kiss her. Sometimes you feel like you’ve been like her, but you are not anymore.
And than you go to sleep.

8. The Albanian kid.
You think you are a God when you jump thoughtless from 10 – meters Kamari cliffs.
But than he comes.
He might be 14, surrounded by his brothers.
He climbs the cliff for minutes, till he desappears.
Then he runs and twist dives.
You are shocked, and the God turns into a smoked fish.

9. The Greek.
He doesn’t show if he’s in crisis or not. He just works silently, humble and gentle.
You would love to talk to him, but all you can get is Efharisto and a thousand smiles.

10. The French.
You don’t hear him talking, but you already know he is French. Simply, he is the ugliest.

SUNDAY LAZY SUNDAY (ITA – ENG)

Agosto 2, 2015 2160 Views

Auto, motorini e quad mi sfrecciano a lato.
Sorrido.

image

Sunday, sea time.

Perissa Beach is 6 km far away from Fira: hard first kilometer, the rest easily downhill.

Cars, motorbikes and quads rush next to me. I feel like I’m an idiot.
But then it’s my turn to overcome two walking guys, and the sea is closer.
So I can smile again.

Want to jump in the water, at least once. But this place is really nice, I’d rather stay here few hours.

Have to start thinking where to go next to Santorini, and these colours deserve to be seen in the afternoon too. There are coaches to go back to Fira. But not now, later.

At the end I’m not a pilgrim this year.

THE ROMANTIC CAT (ITA – ENG)

Agosto 1, 2015 2195 Views

“Stai guardando anche tu?”
“Sí …”
“E a cosa pensi?”
“A niente, tu?”
“Nemmeno io …”
“Sicuro?”
“Puoi scommetterci …”
” … ”

image

“Are you also looking?”
“Yes …”
“And what are you thinking about?”
“Nothing, you?”
“Same here …”
“Really?”
“You could bet …”
” … ”
“Listen, buddy, next time we will bring a girl, promise?!”

THE START (ITA – ENG)

Agosto 1, 2015 2228 Views

31 Luglio: inizio trauma.

1 Agosto: sole, vento, cielo blu.
Bimbo silenzioso.
E allora piscina, fiori, chill-out.
Oggi sembra davvero un altro giorno.
Santorini può aspettare.

31st July: traumatic beginning.
Only sweet couples on my flight. Love them all.
Landed around midnight, my Brompton has been hardly damaged.
Cannot use it, need to take a cab to reach the Camping Santorini.
Dark, hot weather, tough land to pitch the tent.
Try to relax with a beer and fall asleep.
A young German kid shouts out his disappointment until 3 in the morning.
Amazing.

1st August: sun, wind, blue sky.
Kid’s silent. Calm and quiet, I manage to fix the Brompton.
So it’s time for swimmingpool, flowers, chill-out.
Another day has just begun.
Santorini can wait.
